Development Assistant (Part Time)


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Fundraising is key to WildAid’s achievement of its programmatic goals. The Development Assistant will assist the Development Coordinator with all aspects of the fundraising cycle including: processing gifts, sending thank yous and acknowledgements for all gifts, maintaining accurate donation records, compiling program updates for distribution, responding to donation inquiries, preparing email appeals, filing gifts, and running weekly, monthly and quarterly development reports to share with the WildAid team. You will also be responsible for maintaining monthly donor transactions, updating credit card information as needed and communicating with individuals when payment details are out of date.

In addition, the Development Assistant will support the Development Coordinator with major event planning operations and logistics. These tasks include: maintaining event operations calendar and budget, and most importantly tracking attendees, vendor, and volunteer engagement in WildAid’s CRM.

The Development Assistant will play an important role on WildAid’s development team. This right candidate will help WildAid grow its fundraising while systematically setting up essential framework to allow the organization to scale our development operations and audience year over year.

This is a part-time hourly position. The initial workload will be 16 hours per week, spread over two or three days. There is a possibility to increase hours over time based on the needs of the job.


Key Competencies & Ideal Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1-2 years’ experience in customer service, account management or related fields
  • Experience with CRM platforms, especially Salesforce
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Flexible with ability to problem solve creatively
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must take initiative and have a strong work ethic
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Excellent writing and editing
  • Highly-organized, capable multi-tasker


  • Event planning experience
  • 1-2 years’ minimum work experience in a fast-paced, growth-oriented organization
  • Experience working in a start-up or entrepreneurial environment
