WildAid is an international organization undergoing growth, and is seeking to add new independent directors to its Board.  This is an exceptional opportunity for someone interested in joining a dedicated and talented Board and guiding and supporting the organization and its staff to the next level of success and impact. WildAid’s Board serves to advise, govern, oversee policy and direction, and assist with the leadership, fundraising, and general promotion to support the organization’s mission and needs. As a volunteer member of our governing body, a Board Director will share best practices for creating the proper infrastructure, systems, and processes to allow for sustainable expansion.

WildAid is looking for an individual with senior-level expertise in one or more of the following areas: media and communications, operations, finance, social media, fundraising, film/entertainment or international wildlife conservation. 

Ideal candidates have demonstrated a passion for wildlife conservation, have previous Board experience, and have been significant donors to non-profit organizations. 

WildAid is especially interested in candidates willing to serve actively on committees and eventually assume leadership roles on the Board, including the Board Chair role.

Board Directors bring their expertise and experience to help advance the organization’s development and mission, including:

  • Actively promote WildAid’s mission, objectives and fundraising needs to potential funders, volunteers and the community.
  • Willingly impart professional experience in discharging Board responsibilities.
  • Dedicate time to assist WildAid, participate in meetings, and occasionally travel to visit WildAid projects at their own expense.
  • Willingly introduce WildAid to their personal network of contacts.
  • Serve on at least one standing committee of the Board.  Standing committees include: Governance, Development, Programs, Audit, and Finance.
  • Commit to giving (or getting) a minimum of $25,000 annual contribution to WildAid, in addition to participating in annual fundraising galas and/or other events.
  • Make WildAid a top priority in their philanthropic giving.
  • Actively identify and recruit potential financial supporters and Board members.

The WildAid Board currently has 18 members and meets four times per year in San Francisco, CA. Members serve a one year probationary term extended to three years upon mutual agreement.
