The entire WildAid family is shocked and saddened at the loss of our friend, the legendary South African cameraman, Dudley Saunders. For three decades, Dudley courageously covered up-close many of the biggest stories and most volatile situations on the continent, including wars, famine, conflicts, and the escalating threat to wildlife. Dudley was one of the few cameramen assigned to Nelson Mandela following his release from prison and through his ascension to the Presidency. He shot for the SABC, BBC, NBC, and news agencies around the world.
WildAid, Save the Elephants, and the African Wildlife Foundation kicked off a campaign to reduce ivory demand today at the Shanghai Pudong Shangri-La Hotel. Former NBA star Yao Ming and WildAid co-founder Peter Knights called on China to help raise awareness of elephant poaching, reduce the demand for ivory, and protect endangered wildlife.
