Chinese snooker sensation Ding Junhui supports wildlife conservation by filming message

Ding Junhui was in town to film a public service announcement (PSA), in his capacity as WildAid's ambassador.

Chinese prodigy Ding has loved animals since he was a child, particularly dolphins, and wants to promote the idea of protecting wildlife, to reach more people. In his PSA, Ding appeals to the audience to protect endangered animals through the message, 'When the buying stops, the killing can too'.

"The most terrible thing is ignorance," said 20-year-old Ding who took a day off from preparation for the Maplin UK Championship. "Everybody can join this cause by not purchasing wildlife products. When we all come together, we can do anything."

WildAid's campaign, "World Champions for Wildlife", features prominent figures from the sports world filming high-quality conservation messages. These include favourite athletes Cathy Freeman, Dwight Phillips, Kong Linghui, Li Ning, Li Ting, Maurice Greene, Sun Jihai, Yao Ming and Zhou Jihong.

As part of this awareness campaign, Ding's PSA will run across our platform of international and Chinese broadcast media partners Air Media, CBS, CCTV, CNN, Discovery Channel, NBC, etc.
