Danai Gurira is an American actress and playwright, and is best known for her role as Michonne on the AMC television horror drama series The Walking Dead. Additionally, Gurira is the writer of the Tony-nominated play Eclipsed. As an activist, Gurira co-founded Almasi Arts Inc., an organization devoted to contuining arts education in Zimbabwe, and founded Love Our Girls, a non-profit organization that aims to highlight the issues and challenges affecting women throughout the world.
