Leonardo DiCaprio is an award-winning American actor, environmentalist and philanthropist. He achieved international fame for his leading role in Titanic, and has since received critical acclaim for his work in numerous blockbuster films. DiCaprio has won three Golden Globes and recieved six Academy Award nominations. For his performance in the film The Revenant, DiCaprio won the Academy Award, Golden Globe Award, and BAFTA Award for Best Actor. DiCaprio is known for his dedication to environmental and humanitarian issues. In 1998, he founded The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation, an organization dedicated to protecting Earth’s last wild places and fostering a relationship between humanity and nature. DiCaprio has produced educational films communicating environmental issues, including Water Planet and The 11th Hour.
