Actress and WildAid ambassador for elephants and Africa
Lupita Nyong’o is an Academy Award-winning Mexican-Kenyan actress and film director. She won the Academy Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in 2014 for her performance in 12 Years a Slave. Additionally, Nyong'o has been featured in the films Star Wars: The Force Awakens and the live-action version of The Jungle Book. In 2015, Nyong'o was nominated for a Tony Award for her performance in the critically acclaimed Broadway play Eclipsed. As well as working on women’s issues and supporting the arts, Nyong'o has traveled to Kenya with WildAid to advocate for elephant conservaton.
