Basketball star and champion of Gabon's youth
Géraldine Yema Robert is a former international professional basketball player, with a deep commitment to the education and development of young people through sport. Originally from Gabon, she had a high-level sports career in Europe between 2004 and 2020, playing in France, Italy and Poland. She has been selected for the French and Gabonese national teams and has received numerous awards, including the Crystal Ball from the French Basketball Federation, the title of MVP of the French Championship, as well as the medal of Chevalier de l'Ordre national du Mérite du Gabon.
Alongside her athletic career, Géraldine Yema Robert has developed a long-term commitment to sport as a tool for education, leadership and social impact. Founder and president of the Yemaly association since 2009, she organizes basketball camps and training programs for young people in Gabon. In 2025, she also created the Géraldine Robert Yema Foundation, dedicated to the education, empowerment and support of young people, including work aimed at building young girls' confidence, leadership and ambition.
From 2019 to 2023, she held the position of National Coordinator of School and University Sports in Gabon. Since October 2023, she has been a consultant to the Gabonese Ministry of Sports, providing technical and strategic support to national projects related to sport and development.
She brings that commitment to building a better future for Gabonese young people to her work at WildAid as an ambassador for the country's forests and oceans.
