2019 Gala Highlights – “A Night in Africa,” sponsored by Elegance Brands, Inc., Moon Hollow Estate, Kelleher International and Chantecaille

Each year WildAid hosts a star-studded gala fundraiser to celebrate progress in protecting endangered species and marine habitats. We are proud to share the successes made possible by our generous supporters and to showcase recent work by our portfolio of ambassadors. You can see photos from the evening here where we celebrated Africa’s incredible wildlife heritage and what we can do to mobilize public support for conservation… because “Poaching Steals from us all.”

Close to $2 million
“An Night in Africa” raised close to $2 million for our programs.

Nearly 600 guests learned about illegal wildlife trade and WildAid’s conservation successes.

The value of in-kind donations and pro bono support, including live and silent auction items, the evening’s wine and event support.

WildAid’s 2019 Gala was held at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Saturday, November 9. The event’s sponsors included Elegance Brands, In., Moon Hollow Estate, Kelleher International and Chantecaille.

We were thrilled to honor WildAid ambassadors Lupita Lyong’o and Federico (“Fiddi”) Angermeyer with our Wildlife Champion Awards for their exceptional dedication to ending illegal wildlife trade and strengthening protection of marine protected areas.

“A Night in Africa” featured a cocktail and hors-d’oeuvres reception featuring captivating performances from The Cirque, Compton Kidz Club, Taylor Dayne and Live 61 and included emcees Bo Derek and John Corbett along with presenter Maggie Q and special guest Djimon Honsou. Guests enjoyed a three-course vegetarian dinner by the Beverly Wilshire.

The charitable evening brought out celebrities, including Bonang Matheba (Queen B), a South African media personality, who will receive the E! People’s Choice Award for African Influencer of 2019,
